Day Nine

Today was a day of working on out websites. I turned in my lesson plan assignment and finally decided to just make a wordpress website. I'm planning on combining my final assignment with my website assignment. I am hoping that this site will be helpful to my future teaching career. I am really excited to see how it turns out.

Day Eight

Today we learned a little bit of coding and played on an hour of code. I got very into Code Combat on hour of code and I didn't do anything else for the rest of class. Oops.

Day Seven

Today we worked on making lesson plans with apps we found on the app store and I worked on my podcast assignment a little. I scanned all the pictures I need for the video part of my podcast and I will make the video and voice over at home. While we were playing with apps for making our lesson plan, Katie next to me, sound one that I really liked and I played it the rest of class. I wish I could use it for my lesson plan, but she already did. I have to find a different app. I would like to find one that is elementary Ed level of some kind and would be helpful in working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

Day Six

Today in class we looked at the 8 guidelines of media literacy and our new assignment, making a podcast. My partner and I were given the 7th guideline (http://www.ohea.org/media-literacy-guidelines).  Each group was given the chance to ask the class two questions about the guideline and, using an app, we could see the % of people that answered for each answer option. I really liked the socrative app that we used for answering the questions, I hope I can use it in my classroom in the future.
After working on the guidelines, we moved on to our new assignment, making a podcast. I do not like the idea of having my voice recorded but I am excited for my plan at making it a little more fun that just my voice. I plan on reading a book and then making a video of the pages of the book, to have play as I read.

Day Five

Today I finished the group video. For whatever reason, iTunes wasn't working for anyone, so our video doesn't have any sound. The words and video is there though. I think it turned out alright, if I knew how, there would be things I would change. Today was also spent working on our google earth assignment, I pretty much finished that as well. I love working with these programs, I wish we could work with them more and have less discussion about them, but I guess that's not really the point of the class. I'm excited for the day that I can teach my students to use them and see what they come up with.

Day Four

Today I am remembering to post on the day. We have been working more on the video that we started. All that is left for our video is wording and music. We played a little bit with iPads and the iMovie on those. At the end of class we learned about our google earth assignment and how to make tours on google earth. A tool that we could use in our classroom in the future.

Day Three

Again, I forgot to post right at the end of class... So, last Friday in class I finished up my photoshop collage and posted it to flickr for the first part of class (https://www.flickr.com/photos/132331295@N05/16556539354/). After I was done with posting my picture, I waited for a little bit until it was time for the class to transition into the new topic. The last half of class was learning about our Video assignment. We learned the general information about iMovie and how to use the cameras. After learning the basics, we got into groups to come up with a good idea for our 30 second video and then went to film. My group is doing a video on an article that one of my team mates had read in a different class. After my team planned out what video clips we wanted we went out to capture them. We got all of them besides two, which I took while at home and will bring to class with me next class. Movie editing will be next class. Editing video is something I really enjoy, so I am excited.
